NYX Cosmetics & Sears Style

I was asked to represent NYX Cosmetics for Sears Style at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach. Along with trendy clothing designers and other beauty companies like Sally Hansen, I was there to show bloggers the best of what the company has to offer. NYX decided to focus on eyes with a special focus on, of course, the smokey eye! Everyone loves it, some are afraid it, all can achieve it! (Yes, I promise you can.)

So, how did I give guests an easy smoky eye using NYX? Check it out:

Start off by preparing the eyes for the application and blending of shadows. Dot some of NYX Cosmetics’ HD Eyeshadow Base on your lids and along the lower lash line. Gently smooth the product out with your finger until evenly applied.

Set the eyeshadow base with Studio Finishing Powder. This will do two things: Provide extra lasting power and a better surface for your eyeshadow.

Using a soft black pencil like NYX Slide On Pencil in Jet Black, line the upper and lower lash lines. Use a small precision brush or a q-tip to smudge lightly.

Using your finger or a firm eyeshadow brush, apply a shimmery brown shadow like NYX Loose Pearl Eye Shadow in Mocha from your upper lash line to the crease. Lightly smudge the edge of the shadow up a bit past the crease to soften the line. Using an angled brush or a Q-Tip, apply the same shadow under the lash line, right over the black liner.

Use NYX Loose Pearl Eye Shadow in Shimmering Pearl, a shimmery white, and smudge a bit onto your brow bone for a highlight.

Finish the look with a heavy application of NYX Doll Eyes Mascara and you are good to go! See? You did it!
